The Flathead Valley has long been known as an outdoor enthusiasts dream. Come summer we boat, ski, wakeboard and fish on numerous lakes in the area. The largest being Flathead Lake, the biggest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi. Whitefish Lake is also very popular as is the quaint town of Whitefish.
Glacier National Park is less than 40 miles from the towns of Whitefish and Kalispell. The park is truly magnificent with incredible hiking opportunities, camping, historic lodges and numerous waterfalls with incredible views in every direction. It has to be the most beautiful National park in the nation. Whitewater rafting is another exciting activity to do in the park.
In winter, there are 2 ski resorts in the Valley. The largest being Big Mountain, in Whitefish. With over 3200 acres, it is always one of the top rated ski areas in the country. Snowmobiling, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing are other sports you find here in the winter.
